Executive Director of Engineering
Otto Letzelter was awarded a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1991. He currently serves as the chairman of the Building Construction and Engineering Curriculum Committees for Broward Community College. Mr. Letzelter has experience as a Building Official, Structural and Civil Engineer, State General Contractor and State Roofing Contractor, as well as a
Building, UCBI, Roofing, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Inspector, Commercial Combination and Structural Masonry Inspector. He is certified by the State Fire Marshall's Office, and is an experienced Municipal and Special Fire Inspector.
Partnering with Salvatore Giorlando to form MEP Structural Engineering and Inspections, Inc., Mr. Letzelter currently manages inspection and plan review staff on the firm's commercial, institutional and higher education projects. He handles oversight on code administration, quality control, contract compliance, contract administration, technical evaluations, claim reviews and recommendations. He is an expert witness - owner representative, litigation consultant, and handles the management of the Threshold, Florida Statute 468 and UBCI Inspection and administration staff.
Mr. Letzelter recently achieved LEED Professional Accreditation certification
through the U.S. Green Building Council. Leadership in Energy and Environmental
Design (LEED) Professional Accreditation distinguishes building professionals
with the knowledge and skills to successfully steward the LEED certification
process by demonstrating a thorough understanding of green building practices
and principles and the LEED Rating System.
