Salvatore J. Giorlando
Salvatore J. Giorlando attended the College of Santa Fe (NM) where he majored in Business Administration. He has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, beginning his career by assuming the helm of his father's electrical contracting company. Mr. Giorlando partnered with another firm to form a second larger company, Standard Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc., and shortly thereafter founded Standard Electric of South Florida, Inc. Selling off the profits of both subcontracting firms in 1992, MEP Inspections, Inc., was created in response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Andrew. Mr. Giorlando founded MEP Structural Engineering and Inspections, Inc., in 2002 partnered with Otto Letzelter, P.E.
Mr. Giorlando has overseen hundreds of permitted projects in College-wide Building Code Administration (UCBI Inspector) at the campuses of Broward Community College, Miami-Dade College, and Florida Atlantic University. A State licensed electrical contractor, he holds Florida licenses for Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Inspections and is a Plans Examiner. He was Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing sub-consultant Inspector for the cities of Stuart, Royal Palm Beach and Coral Springs. Mr. Giorlando is also licensed under Florida Statute 633 Florida State Fire Marshal, Florida Department of Education Florida Statute 235.26, and has a certification by the Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals, S.F.B.C # 177. He personally handled project management and was Plan Examiner and Inspector for mechanical, electrical and plumbing, including building code administration, for the hallmark Scripps Research Institute in Jupiter.
